Hello everyone

It feels like such a long time since I last said that! I must say I have missed you all. I should certainly start by apologising for not posting for what feels like an entire lifetime. For a while I wondered if I would ever come back to blogging; but this has always been the only platform I have fully expressed myself as a creative. So for my sanity, I seriously had to return! I also missed interacting with the community I have built with all of you who have been loyal to my blog since it started. That was a major reason I felt it necessary to hold on to this blogging dream, because even while I had stopped posting, so many of you would still inbox and check on me and encourage me to return and that was special...

So as this is a new beginning, you may wonder if there are any changes that I have made or will be making to the blog. For starters we have a new template guys! I repeat! We have a new template haha! It is simpler and due to my constant need for change, it probably will change again very soon; so for your own good don't get too attached!! I have also grown a lot since my last post and my content will probably reflect this. If you remember, in 2016, I started slowly moving towards ridding my life of unused items to bring in items I loved and used. In 2017, I refined this a lot and began to strategically minimise my belongings significantly. By mid-year I had experienced high levels of depression and watched what I could count as my favourite documentary: 'The Minimalists', with Joshua Fields Millburn and Ryan Nicodemus. This began my conscious movement towards living a more minimal and simplified life. And here I am, in 2018, more self-aware and with less clothes than I have ever had in my adult life; still pursuing my PhD (which has been determined to make itself the most difficult degree I have ever pursued), and still experiencing depression but ready to win the battle and talk about it. So you can expect blog posts on all of that and a lot more, mixed with our usual fashion outfit of the day posts.

I am excited and I hope you are too!

Thank you all for the consistent support over the years and thank you for returning to read this post.I feel so blessed and so grateful for this community and can't wait for us to start this new journey together!

xoxo

    1. Thank you so much. Sharing is definitely not easy, but I have learned that it is something so common and nothing to be ashamed about and that makes it a lot easier to talk about it on such a platform.

Thank you so much for your kind comment and for stopping by <3

  11. First of all- amazing photos. I really like the red skirt! Lovely white shirt and shoes....and that hat is so fabulous. You look fantastic.

Blogging can be challenging at best of times, and I'm sure it's not easy to do it when one is pursuing a PhD degree. I also had this kind of thoughts, wondering whether I should come back to blogging....and I realized that a good thing about having a blog is that you can always come back to it.

In other words, it's ok to take a break.

And it is always ok to take time for ourselves when we need it. I'm sorry to hear that you're battling depression. I know it's one of the hardest things to live with, but you're a strong young lady and I'm sure you can beat it. A day at the time, I always say when I feel overwhelmed.

  17. Heyy Chenai! Hope I'm not hopping on way too late for the comments haha!
I just discovered your blog a few days ago and its definitely a fresh new place I will be checking out for Fashion & Lifestyle. Unfortunately, we all go through that "Bloggers Block" and feel like just leaving it all and start afresh, but its amazing that you have hopped back on. Keep up the mojo.

(ps- what blogger template is this as it is very minimal and beautiful and I'm trying to change the look of my blog for some new MOJO)
