OOTD: POLKA DOTS AND LACED FLATS

Hello everyone!

Welcome back to my blog! As promised I have a fresh post for Tuesday. I hope you are all having a great week so far. It is nice and sunny here, although I am craving for cosy cold weather. I do enjoy cold evenings especially when I have a great series or movie to watch and a ton of junk food to consume. But alas this is Africa and it is still summer so I shall continue to enjoy the beautiful warm weather. I must say I had a great weekend because I went jogging for the first time in a long time this Sunday evening by the beach. I loved every minute of my jog and walk session. I even did squats and lunges. It was absolutely refreshing to do this by the beach especially because of the beautiful breeze and fresh air coming from the ocean. It was also a very warm evening. So I take it back... I love summer after all! I am trying to get back into eating healthy because I have gained a lot of weight and this will be visible in posts that will follow as I am still dealing with a backlog of outfits I took and decided not to post. I have gained almost 6 kgs and with my body type and height it really shows. I hope to embrace fitness again and not lose track of the goal!

ABOUT THE LOOK

Following my consistent love for neutrals, I wore a monochrome look, once again, but this time I spiced it up with some polka dots (did you notice the hectic levels of sarcasm there lol). I also could not resist joining everyone in the laced flats trend. Many of us probably dreamed of being ballerinas when we were young but unfortunately few realised that dream. I imagine these shoes were created for all the adult women who had this dream, once upon a time. They really do give a bit more character to the flat shoe. I am also obsessed with black trousers and culottes and have been slowly adding to my collection where possible. I definitely feel that these do make the list for wardrobe essentials. They are great for both casual and formal looks and the colour further increases their versatility. I also found this gorgeous necklace in Jam and it was quite a bargain. When I bought it it was slightly damaged but fixable. It was definitely worth the money and if I am not mistaken was about R15. I honestly do love my bargain pieces from that store!

In other news, I finally finished my Masters. I shall be graduating in April for the third time. My mum always jokes that she is running out of space to put all our graduation pictures #nicelifeproblems! I am considering doing my PhD but goodness I might need a bit of a break. On that note, congratulations to all my blog readers who have completed their diplomas or degrees recently and to everyone who has started a new chapter in their lives be it in a new job, marriage, fitness and natural hair journey etc! Well done everyone!

Thank you all for stopping by and especially for your comments. I love reading them all and appreciate you all.

xoxo
